An annunciator is a device, often in the form of a keypad, designed for controlling or annunciating certain functions of the fire alarm panel. Most annunciators allow the basic commands and controls of a FACP: acknowledge, silence, reset, and drill. Some annunciators simply act as a remote display, and allow all panel functions to be carried out, including programming. Some annunciators may be small and specialized, and are designed for controlling or annunciating only one device, such as a duct detector.
