Modify Fire Lite BG-12LX

Postby 1gunnjam1 » October 17th, 2009, 10:01 pm

Hi, I am getting a Fire Lite BG-12LX that is addressable and I have no controll box. If someone could post a video on YouTube or give clear instructions how to remove the addressable part of the pull station. That would be great.

Thanks

Surprisingly simple! Find the wires coming from the switch in the pull, cut them right before they enter the circuit board. You're done :) Wohooo!

You are 100% incorrect in this instance JPE. Please do not give information you have not verified.

This is the rear of a BG-12LX on an addressable fire alarm system Please note this pull station is installed so it has wires that your new pull station will not have. First open the pull station and you will notice a white "module" with an LED on the front. Grasp that with two fingers and pull that straight out and throw it away.

Now, turn the pull station over. Notice the set of terminals with screws on the left with the red and black wires? That is the "module" side of the pull station. Now do you notice the two terminals to the right with no screws and two wires (green and white) soldered to them? You want to move the screws from the two terminals on the left to the two screw-less terminals on the right.

There are NO wires to move, and no wires to cut. Completing these two steps converts the pull station from addressable to conventional.

Once again please do not bump 7 month old topics back to the top of the list. Thanks! :-BD

You don't take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it.
